Brenda L. Lewis

Retired Amtrack Mechanic

Brenda L. Lewis, a retired Amtrack Mechanic, passed away on November 6, 2022 a the age of 61.

Brenda was born in Boston in 1960, the daughter of John M. and Marion R. Kaczorowski.  She was raised in Everett and graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1979.  She continued her education taking classes at Bunker Hill College. 

Brenda went on to join the Carmans Union and worked as a mechanic for Amtrack & the MBTA Commuter Rail. She was a woman who took great pride in her job.

Brenda married her first love, Henry A. Lewis, in June of 1989.   They settled down in Chelsea where they raised their three children.  They shared 33 years of marriage together.

Brenda was a loving person full of life, making friends wherever she went. She had a strong work ethic surpassed only by her love & dedication to her family & friends.

She is survived by her husband Henry A. Lewis, her children, Kenneth T. Lewis of Chelsea, Kristy M. Lewis of Chelsea, and Ronnie C. Lewis of Chelsea, her siblings, Robert J. Kaczorowski of Somerville, Christine A. Kaczorowski of Lynn, Deborah M. Jenner of Melrose, and her grandchildren, Nataliah, Alinah, and Hannah.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Roberta A. Kaczorowski, Donna M. Kaczorowski, her brother Ronnie C. Kaczorowski. And dedicated friend Elizabeth E. Calabro.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 13th, from 4 – 8PM at the Weir-MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem St. Malden.

Services will be on Monday, November 14th  at 10 AM, followed by a private interment at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Lisa Uminsky

May 16, 1952 – November 3, 2022

Lisa Uminsky, “The Little Queen,” with her family at her side, passed unexpectedly and all too soon to her Lord and her family in heaven on Thursday, November 3.  She was 60 years of age. 

Born and raised in Chelsea, the loving daughter and cherished angel of Alfred H. Uminski and Elaine H. (Davis) Uminski, as a young girl, Lisa attended Williams School in Chelsea, the Parlin Jr. High School in Everett and participated with the Bay Cove Program.  Lisa lived with her family in Chelsea for most of her life and in Revere for the last 20 years. 

In her lifetime, she brought immense joy to those privileged to know her.  Her very special day came every May 16th, she enjoyed collecting beaded necklaces, doing arts and crafts, reading, and competing in the Special Olympics, receiving various gold and silver medals.  She followed the Red Sox and football, cheering on any team player wearing the number 16.’  She was an honorary lifetime member of the St. Stanislaus Choir.  She also enjoyed traveling with family and playing games of chance.

Lisa joins her beloved mother, Elaine Uminski in heaven and leaves her father, Alfred Uminski to mourn her passing, along with her brother Kenneth J. Uminski, Sr., and his wife, Lori, her sister, guardian, and caregiver, Lorianne Uminski, all of Revere.  She was the adored aunt of Brittany, Daniel and his wife, Amy, Kenneth, Jr., and Gianna Uminski. 

Visiting hours were held from the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea on Tuesday, November 8 and her funeral was held from the funeral home on Wednesday, November 9 followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Church, 670 Washington Ave, Revere at 10 a.m. Services concluded with committal at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Eligio Rivas

April 20, 1946 – November 4, 2022

Eligio Rivas, 76, passed away on Friday November 4 with his family by his side after a brief Illness. 

Born and raised in San Jacinto, El Salvador, he was one of seven children born to Simeon Vaquerano and Maria Victoria Rivas.

He married Guadalupe Hernandez and started raising a family of two sons and two daughters.  Eligio supported his family as a farmworker on a small family dairy farm in El Salvador.  He came to the United States 15 years ago and was a resident of Chelsea and Revere for most of that time. 

In his lifetime, Eligio enjoyed walks along the beach, home gardening cultivating plants and tomatoes and mentoring and helping his grandchildren.

He was the beloved husband of 47 years to Guadalupe Hernandez of Chelsea; devoted father of Ulises A. Rivas of Delaware, Santos Roberto Rivas, Argelia Rivas and Maria Rivas, all of Revere; cherished grandfather of Elizabeth Rivas, Ulises Rivas, Alexi Rivas, Stephanie Rivas, Alejandro Rivas and Matias Barillas; dear brother of Maribel Rivas of Chelsea, Ana Gloria Aguiluz of California, Alicia Rivas of New York and three additional siblings in El Salvador.

His Funeral will be held from the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea today, Thursday, November 10 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Rose Church, 600 Broadway, Chelsea at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Anthony Leighton Scott III

March 27, 1943 – November 1, 2022

Chelsea resident, formerly of East Boston and Revere, Anthony L. Scott, III passed away on Tuesday, November 1 while receiving supportive care at Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford over the past five months.  He was 79 years old.

Born in Tonopah, Nevada, he was one of four children of Anthony L., Jr., and Rose Marie (Guiliano) Scott.   He grew up in East Boston and attended East Boston High School.

He was married to Florence A. “Sissy” (Hartigan) and they have been best friends for nearly 60 years.  Together they raised one daughter and four sons.  Anthony was a longtime East Boston resident, settling for a time in Revere and has been living in Chelsea for the past 13 years.

Anthony pursued many various careers in his life, but most enjoyed his last profession as a chauffeur with Fifth Avenue Limousine, frequently chauffeuring many well know celebrities, book authors and other notable and interesting people.  He is remembered as an all-around Boston sports fan.

In addition to his parents, Anthony was predeceased by sons: Anthony L., Scott, IV, Kreg Scott and Shane Scott and his sister, Pamela McGrane. He is survived by his wife and best friend of 58 years, Florence “Sissy” Scott of Chelsea and he was the devoted father of Antonette Jarvis and her husband, Robert of Haverhill and Robert Scott and his wife, Beate of Norway; cherished grandfather of Nicole Vera, Shana Scott, Kreg Scott, A.J. Scott, Christopher Scott, Michelle Scott and Julia Scott and dear brother of Raymond Scott of Florida and James Scott of Lowell.
