Special to the Record
Last week, Senator Sal DiDomenico joined friends and educators at Kelly Elementary School in Chelsea for a conversation about literacy and education in Massachusetts. The event featured remarks from Dr. Almi Abeyta, Superintendent of Chelsea Public Schools, administrators and classroom teachers, as well as education and reading experts. Speakers discussed literacy levels in our state and how we can be most effective for students learning to read and write. DiDomenico and other attendees had the opportunity to sit in on classrooms to observe reading and writing instruction.
“I look forward to continuing this open dialogue with teachers, education experts, and parents to ensure all our children are prepared for a bright and prosperous future,” said Senator Sal DiDomenico. “It was a pleasure to spend time with so many passionate educators and I want to thank Kelly Elementary School for hosting all of us for the day.”
