OUI in Accident
On June 11, at 10:40 p.m., CPD officers responded to the area of Essex Street and Ellsworth Street for a motor vehicle accident. Officers spoke with the reporting party, who stated that he was backing out his vehicle when the operator of the other vehicle was driving up Essex St. and struck his vehicle. That operator refused to cooperate with police and argued with the other driver. Officers formed the opinion that the male was under the influence of alcohol. An open bottle of alcohol was also removed from his vehicle. He was placed under arrest.
Julio Sosa, 32, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor and possession of an open container of alcohol.
Took Keys
On June 15, at 1:30 a.m., Officers were dispatched in front of 262 Washington Ave. for a report of a Disturbance. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the reporting party, who stated she was attempting to get into her mother’s apartment when a male party grabbed and pulled the keys off of her hands by force. The victim stated the male party appeared under the influence of alcohol and didn’t want to give the keys back. Further investigation revealed the male assaulted the victim who was over 60 years old. He was placed into custody.
Javier Perez-Cruz, 21, of 74 Bloomingdale St., was charged with larceny from a person.
Busted Up Chelsea Walk Pub
On June 18, at 4:39 a.m., officers were dispatched to 411 Broadway for a report of a disturbance. The calling party who resides at that address stated they heard a loud bang and an alarm going off. Upon arrival, Officers heard an alarm sounding from The Chelsea Walk Pub located at 416 Broadway. Officers observed the front door glass had been shattered. The door was open and Officers entered the building and located a brick on the ground. Officers searched the building, but did not locate anyone inside. Officers reviewed the City cameras and that information led them to place the female suspect under arrest. The female also had outstanding warrants out of the state of Florida.
Guillermina Montanez, 49, of 439 Broadway, was charged with breaking and entering in the night for a felony, possession of burglarious tools, being a fugitive from justice and one warrant.
