The following Chelsea municipal buildings will be closed on Monday, October 12, in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day: City Hall, the Public Library, the Senior Center, and the City Yard.
Chelsea’s public safety buildings will remain operational, and online services will continue to be available 24/7. For a complete list of online services, visit www.chelseama.gov/online-services.
Trash and recycling will not be collected on Monday, resulting in a one-day delay for the remainder of the week (Monday’s route will be collected Tuesday; Tuesday’s route will be collected Wednesday, etc.).
Enforcement of the City’s residential parking program will be suspended from Monday at 12 a.m. until Tuesday, October 13, at 12 a.m., Parking restrictions for street sweeping will also not be enforced on Monday.
Indigenous Peoples’ Day is a Massachusetts state holiday that celebrates and honors Indigenous American peoples and commemorates their histories and cultures. It is celebrated on the second Monday in October.
