Gina Lou Dorso

December 17, 1966 – August 13, 2024

 Gina Dorso passed away in her home unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 13th. She was 57 years of age.

She was born and raised in Chelsea, attended local schools and graduated from Chelsea High School in 1984.  

She worked as a certified nurse’s assistant at On Broadway Skilled Nursing Home and, at the time of her passing, she was employed at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston.  Gina was a longtime social member of the Sagamore Club in Chelsea where she is fondly remembered as a wonderful fun-loving person.

A lifelong resident of Chelsea, she was a beloved child of the late John R. and Celia Dorso. She is lovingly survived by her beloved companion of 40 years, Thomas “Tommy” Lubanski, Jr., of Chelsea.   She was the dear sister of John Dorso, Jr. and his wife, Brenda of Winthrop, Patricia Dobbyn and her husband, David of Connecticut and the late Doreen Dorso.  She is also survived by several cherished nieces and nephews, extended family members and friends.

Glen Allan Welch

May 1, 1962 – September 4, 2024

 Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend visiting hours for Glen A. Welch today, Thursday, September 12th from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea, A life tribute service and celebration of life will immediately follow the visitation at 11 a.m.  Services will conclude with Military Honors and committal at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

At 62 years of age, Glenn passed away unexpectedly in his home on Wednesday,. September 4th. He was a beloved child of the late Violet Marie (Koby) “Dolly” Welch-Harrison.  Born and raised in Chelsea where he attended local schools, he enlisted into the US Army during the Granada Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1983.  Upon returning home, he joined the Carpenters Union Local 33 in Boston and worked on many various construction projects in the metropolitan Boston area. He was residing in Saugus for the past 20 years. 

In his lifetime, he was a talented artist and painted many still life and landscape oil paintings. He also collected jewelry and watches and enjoyed following and invested in the stock market.

Glen was the loving brother of Lawrence “Larry” Welch and his wife, Nancy and William P. Welch and his wife, Diana, all of Maine, the late Kathleen Chapman and Mark S. Welch; cherished uncle of Joshua Chapman of Boston, Jessica Lynn Downey Welch and her husband, Joseph of Florida, Melissa Marie and her husband, Luke Cyr of Maine, Carmen Welch, Valerie Welch, Angel Welch, Chrissy Welch, Cora Welch and Kasey Welch, all of Maine, Lawrence “LJ” Welch of New Hampshire, Elicia Welch of Oklahoma and the late Lawrence Welch Jr. and the adoring great uncle of William, and Tyler Cyr, Charlotte and Elsie Quiron, Nolan, and Nelson Downey, Olivia Welch and Everly Welch.  He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
