Maribel Bonilla Ortiz

Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend visiting hours for Maribel Bonilla Ortiz on Friday, June 21, from 9 to 11 a.m. in the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea, the visitation will be immediately followed by funeral services in the Funeral Home at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
At 56 years of age, Maribel peacefully passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice House on Sunday, June 16th with her sisters at her side. Maribel lived courageously with cancer for the past eight months. She was greatly supported by all her family and knew she was loved by everyone. Born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico, Maribel settled with her family in Chelsea as a young child where she attended local schools and graduated from Chelsea High School.
She was the loving daughter of Nereida Quesada Ortiz and the late Carlos Luis Quesada. Maribel worked as a waitstaff for over twenty years at the Hale House Assisted Living Facility in Boston. In her lifetime, Maribel was an avid lover of her pets and all animals, keeping her own cats, birds and turtles. She loved all things that had flowers and butterflies. And she is fondly remembered as a very friendly, gentle and loving person.
Maribel was recently predeceased by her father, Carlos Quesada six weeks ago. She is lovingly survived by her mother, Nereida Quesada of Chelsea, along with her dearest siblings: Marisol Natal and her husband, Jorge of Chelsea, Marilyn Gonzalez and her husband, Isaac of Great Mills, MD, Maritza Cakmak and her husband, Metin of Arlington, Elsa Quesada of Chelsea, and Kaine Quesada Ortiz of Waltham. She was the cherished aunt of Jorge Natal, Jr., Joshua Natal, Jeremy Natal, Lucas Tapia, Stephanie Alvey and her husband, Brian, and Michael Gonzalez, and adoring great-aunt of Liliyana, Cassandra, and Quincy Alvey.
