The Marigold House Opens at 17 Grove Street

The Marigold House has recently opened and has taken applications for tenants, Chelsea residents are getting first priority. This new facility is geared towards those who identify as female. With the increasing need for help, because of sexual abuse, sex trafficking and mental or substance abuse issues, this type of facility is needed.

Several local programs have banded together to allow this project to come to fruition. CAPIC, BayCove, Chelsea Police Department, and other local agencies.

The building covers 3 floors, housing 3 on floor one, 5 on both 2nd and 3rd floors. Common bathroom on each floor, as well as kitchen and common living area. The basement has a washer and dryer for all to use.

Once a client is housed and resisted, other programs like food stamps, and government money for living will come into play for the client. The program is also getting help from local businesses, with lower cost food or donations, clothing and other of life’s essentials.

This is certainly a step in the right direction, reaching out to those who are vulnerable to predators, or victims of their own vices.

As of this writing, several applications to live at Marigiold House are being processed, and more are expected.
