Joanne Quinn

Of Revere, formerly of Chelsea

Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend visiting hours for Joanne M. (Fagone) Quinn on Tuesday Sept. 5, from 4 to 7 p.m. In the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea.  The Funeral will be from the Welsh Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 6th at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 670 Washington Ave, Revere at 10 a.m. Joanne passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 29th.   She was 79 years of age.

Born and raised in Chelsea, she was a beloved daughter of the late Charles and Theresa “Tillie” (Ulatowski) Fagone.  She attended St. Stanislaus Parochial School and graduated from Chelsea High School.  Joanne was a past resident of Chelea and has been residing in Revere for the past 25 years.  She was married to James J. Quinn for 40 years and was passionately devoted to home and family, raising two daughters.

In her lifetime, Joanne enjoyed being a grandmother of six, spending time with her family sharing together in special events, and her trips to various casinos.

She is survived by her beloved husband, James J. Quinn of Revere, her devoted daughters, Cheryl Finnigan of No. Reading and Joanne Cuneen of Revere. She was the dear sister of Rev. Benidict Fagone, OFM.Conv., Phyllis Noftle, both of Chelsea, Dorothy Montgomery of Malden, Patricia Malone of Wilmington, Christine Giordano of Florida and the late Nancy DeSalvo.  She is also survived by six grandchildren and four great granddaughters.

Arrangements were given to the care and direction of the Welsh Funeral Home.

Ronald Simonelli

Life Long Chelsea Resident

Ronald Simonelli, a life long Chelsea resident, passed away after a long illness on August 29.

Born in Boston to the late Pasquale and Lillian (Helfant) Simonelli, he was the dear brother of Sheldon (Tony) Simonelli and his wife, Catherine of Saugus, Evelyn Pollock and her husband, Barry of Peabody, Wayne Simonelli and his wife, Linda of Middleton and the late Phillip Simonelli and his surviving wife, Carol of Chelsea and the late Gerald Simonelli and Marlene Nolan.  He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Ron was devoted to his late girlfriend Eileen Benjamin who he missed terribly. He was proud of his black belt in Karate and was a talented guitarist.                                                                            

Visiting hours will be in the Paul Buonfiglio & Sons-Bruno Funeral Home, 128 Revere St., Revere on Tuesday, September 5, from 9:30  to10:30 a.m. followed by a prayer service at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Moises Francisco Zavala

November 19, 1979 – August 23, 2023

Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to honor the life of Moises Francisco Zavala and visit with his family at the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea on Friday, September 1, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

At 43 years of age, Moises passed away suddenly at his home in Chelsea on Wednesday, August 23.

Born and raised in San Vicente El Salvador, a son of Gloria Zavala and Francisco Olivar,   attended school in El Salvador and came to Chelsea as a young man, socializing and attending many family functions and gatherings.

He leaves behind his daughter, Nathaly I. Zavala-Ram; his siblings, Marina Rivas of Everett and Carlos Olivar of Saugus, as well as several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Naomi Brown

She Will Be Greatly Missed by All Who Loved Her

Naomi “Bobbie” Brown, a lifelong resident of Chelsea, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2023, at the age of 89.  

Naomi was a computer operator at Blue Cross/Blue Shield Health Insurance Company, retiring after 15 years of service.  She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

The former wife of the late James H. Brown, she was the loving daughter of the late Newell and Dorothy (Platzman) Wood; loving mother of her children: Dorothy Niemiec and her husband, Francis of South Deerfield, Cheryl Tench of Virginia and her late husband, Gary, Karen Peppers of Virginia and her late husband, John, Edward Brown of Lynn and his late wife, Marie Jean, Selene Casoli and her husband, Christopher of Revere, Mark Brown and Kelley Dodge of Fitchburg.  She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.  

Relatives and friends attended visiting hours in the Carafa Family Funeral Home, 389 Washington Ave., Chelsea on Tuesday, August 29.  Funeral Services and Interment are PRIVATE.

Elisa Enamorado

April 12, 1944 – August 26, 2023

Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend the Funeral of Elisa Enamorado, 79, who passed away on Saturday, August 26, in the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea, today, Thursday, August 31, at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Rose Church, 600 Broadway at 10 a.m. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Born and raised in Villanueva, Honduras, Elisa was the eldest of 12 children born to Blanca Burgos and Jesus A. Enamorado. completed college with a master

She was married to Adolfo Garcia and began raising a family while working outside of her home as a grade schoolteacher in Honduras.

She was widowed in 1977 and worked to bring her family to the United States. , she was able to settle her family in Chelsea in 1982 and she has been a resident of Chelsea since that time.

For many years, Elisa worked as teacher assistant and paraprofessional for Chelsea Public Schools. five years at Chelsea High School before retiring in 2006. , Elisa became the fulltime caregiver to her mother, helping her to return home to Honduras for her final years.

She was extremely devoted to home, family and community. She volunteered for Centro Latino, teaching English and Spanish reading and writing, she was a great organizer, bringing others together to champion many causes for the benefit of all.

She was a devoted parishioner and communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of the Neocatechumenal Way of Chelsea.

She was the beloved mother of L. Patricia Garcia, Miriam Garcia, Carmen Garcia, Lorena Garcia and Johana Santos. nine siblings, 12 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.

Mark R. Orlando

March 27, 1981- August 18, 2023

Of Worcester, formerly of East Boston and Chelsea, at 42 years of age, Mark R. Orlando passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 18, at his home in Worcester.

Born in Malden, he was the beloved son of the late Donna Marie (Orlando) Katramados and Kevin J. Keefe.and attended schools in East Boston and was living in Worcester for the past one and a half years. , Mark enjoyed being a father figure to his children, time spent with his family, music and helping loved ones whenever possible.

He was the loving father figure to Jaime Ferrara and Shaelyn Clark, dear brother of Christopher Orlando and his wife, Michelle, Shannon Katramados and her life-partner, Tyron Minardi, all of Chelsea; cherished uncle of Christopher Orlando, II., Tyron Minardi, II., Cailey Orlando and Tyrique Minardi.
