Angelica Grace Neverson

June 5, 1987 – June 17, 2023

Angelica Grace Neverson, A lifelong resident of Chelsea, passed away in the peaceful surroundings of her home on Saturday, June 17, after living courageously for the past five years with cancer.  She was 36 years of age.  Born on June 5, 1987, she was one of four children born to Malcolm E. Neverson and the late Angela G. (Go) Neverson.

Angelica grew up in Chelsea and attended St. Rose Parochial School and Chelsea High School.  After graduating from High School, she attended U-Mass and Bunker Hill Community College attaining an associate degree in history and government.

She worked for several years as a mail handler at the So. Boston Postal Annex.

In her lifetime, Angelica enjoyed K-pop music and dancing and was a past member of the U-Mass Dance Club. She also enjoyed traveling on ocean cruises,and vacationing in London.  Angelica was an avid reader and would write fan-fiction stories creating background developments of several movie and television characters.

She was the beloved daughter of Malcolm E. Neverson and the late Angela G. (Go) Neverson and is lovingly survived by her siblings: Louis Curry of Georgia and Charmaine Neverson and Malcolm E. Neverson, Jr. both of Chelsea. She is also survived by many friends and extended family members here and abroad.

Relatives and friends attended visiting hours in the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea on Friday, June 23, and a Christian Vigil Service was held during the visitation.  Services concluded in the Funeral Home.

Ruth Bornstein

Beloved to Family and Friend to Many

Ruth Bornstein, 92, passed away on June 26.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Max Bornstein and was the mother of Jerrold and Nancy Escalada and Dr. Steven and Suzanne Bornstein;  Bubby of Jonathan Bornstein and Daniel Bornstein and his fiancé, Greta Hassler; beloved cousin to many Charney and Smolker family members and friend to many.

Helen “Honey” Carroll Bulkley 

She Was a Fierce Lover of Her Family

Helen “Honey” Carroll Bulkley was born in Winthrop on September 9, 1940 to Joseph and Helen Donnelly Carroll.

Helen was a fierce lover of her family. She reveled in the lives and success of her two daughters and four grandchildren. Helen was a huge supporter of everything her children and grandchildren participated in. She was an instrumental volunteer at her daughters’ schools, Presentation of Mary Academy and Mount Saint Mary Seminary in New Hampshire. Helen was an integral partner with her husband, Skip, in their business, Video Lab in Manchester, NH. Together they built and sold one of the first design-build audio visual companies in New England.

Helen is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Edward “Skip” Bulkley, her daughters, Lynn Solomon and her husband, Douglas, Paige Deeley and her husband, Mike, grandchildren, Brooke, Jake, Rette and Zack and her brother Richard Carroll of Saugus. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Cornelius “Neil” Carroll.

The family would like to thank everyone who touched and was touched by Helen’s steely determination and love. The family thanks the team at Duke University’s Cardiac Intensive Care Unit for their wonderful care and her healthcare partners for their many years of care.

Alice S. Konieczka

July 29, 1930 – June 18, 2023

Alice S. Konieczka passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 18 in the quiet surroundings of her home in Peabody. She was 92 years of age. Alice was predeceased by her loving husband of 68 years, Alfred S. Konieczka, Sr.  

Alice was born in Chelsea where she grew up as the oldest child of the late Stanley and Anna Dekofski.  She graduated from Chelsea High School, Class of 1948.  After her graduation, Alice attended the Wilson School of Medical Technology in Boston and in June 1949 received her certification in Medical Laboratory Technique. Following graduation, Alice worked as a lab technician in Bridgeport, CT.

In 1951 she married the love of her life, Alfred, and together they began raising their family of two sons and three daughters in Chelsea. In 1972, Alice and Alfred relocated their family to Peabody, residing there for the past 51 years. 

In 1975 Alice enrolled in Northeastern University’s Hinton Course for Medical Laboratory Assistants, and in 1977 received her Certificate. After graduating, she worked in the lab at Union Hospital in Lynn and later worked as a lab technician for a private medical practice, Lynnfield Medical Associates in Peabody, where she worked until her retirement in 1992.

Alice was also an active member of the PAV Post 13 Ladies Auxiliary in Chelsea. She participated in many of the past Memorial Day Parades and Post functions, and together with her husband, attended countless polka dances at the former PAV Hall in Chelsea.

Alice was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She was the loving mother of Alfred S. Konieczka, Jr. of Peabody, Karen Divino and her husband, Emidio of Taunton, Susan Igo and her husband, Frederick of Ayer, Paul Konieczka and his wife, Jean of Merrimack, NH, and Linda Paskaruk and her husband, Gregory of Newmarket, Ontario. She was the cherished grandmother of Matthew and his wife, Melissa Konieczka, Todd Konieczka, Jeffrey and his wife, Tatiana  Divino, Kristen and her husband, Geoffrey Dutton, Corey and his wife, Shannon Konieczka, Ariane Divino, Daniel Konieczka, Scott and his wife, Brittney Konieczka, Nicholas Igo, Katarina Paskaruk, Mykola Paskaruk, Samantha Igo and Lawrence Paskaruk and adored great-grandmother of Annie, Harley, Sofia, Harper, Nathan and Emme; as well as the dear sister of the late Stanley Dekofski and surviving sibling, Kenneth Dekofski of Merrimac, MA.

Visiting Hours will be held at the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea on Wednesday, June 28 from 4 to 7 p.m.  Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Adelaide Church, 708 Lowell Street, Peabody on Thursday, June 29, at 11 a.m.  Services will conclude with interment at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.  Funeral home is fully handicap accessible with ample parking opposite funeral home.
