The Chelsea High boys basketball team is healthy, rested, and rarin’ to go in anticipation of Friday’s announcement of the seedings and pairings of the MIAA Division 2 North State Sectional Basketball Tournament.
The Red Devils started out slowly this season with a 2-4 record, but claimed 12 of their next 14 encounters to finish the year with a sterling 14-6 mark.
“We started the season with a lot of players who did not have extensive varsity experience,” said CHS head coach Jay Seigal. “But they grew together as a team and we got better and better as the season progressed.”
Seigal and his crew, who have not played a game since last Tuesday, have scheduled a pair of scrimmages this week to get ready for the tourney. The Red Devils will go to Mystic Valley tonight (Thursday) and will host Pope John in the CHS gym Saturday morning at 11:00.
