It is still a bit early and a bit cold, too, to be playing baseball.
Perhaps it is the cold that is keeping the Red Sox from acting like the champions the sports writers predicted they were going to be.
Before the season began last week, without so much as playing one game, some sports writers were claiming this was the greatest Red Sox line-up in the history of Red Sox line-ups.
This may, in fact, be the case, but the start to the new season is dismal and filled with deep rumblings and foreboding.
It is very early in the season, too early to be making preposterous claims about where the Red Sox will end up in the American League East except to say – right now, things don’t look very good.
