Although the Chelsea High girls basketball team dropped its last two games of the season to Greater Lowell and Pope John this past week in a pair of close, hard fought contests, the Lady Red Devils, who finished with a sterling 13-4 overall record, will receive a high seed in the upcoming state tournament which should earn them a home game in the opening round.
“We played well in both games and certainly had our chances to win,” said CHS head coach Matt LaBranche, whose squad captured the Commonwealth Athletic Conference Small School Division title and was 13-2 against all CAC opponents. “We have some things to work on before the tourney, but the team is excited to be where we are and looking forward to the post season.”
The MIAA is expected to announce the seedings and first round pairings on Friday.
