Alice B. Galewski
June 24, 1930 – July 17, 2024
Relatives and friends are most kindlyin vited to attend funeral services for Alice B. Galewski today, Thursday, July 25, beginning at 9:30 a.m. in the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea. The visitation will be immediately followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 670 Washington Ave., Revere at 11 a.m. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
At 94 years of age, Alice passed away after a brief decline in health on Wednesday, July 17th at the Beverly Hospital.
Born and raised in raised in Chelsea, Alice was one of nine children of the late Ignacy and Veronika (Kipa) Galewski. She attended local schools and graduated from Chelsea High School. As a young lady, she moved to Queens, NY. In New York she worked as reservationist and ticket agent for American Airlines for nearly
40 years. Alice left Queens and returned to Massachusetts, relocating to Lynn Beach where she lived for the last 30 years. In her retirement years, she volunteered at the Salem Hospital Gift Shop.
During her career with American Airlines, Alice traveled extensively to Europe visiting Germany, Poland, Russia and other destinations, both home and abroad. In recent years, she continued traveling with the Eagle Bank Travel Club. She enjoyed attending live performances at the North Shore Music Theater, fine dining, Chelsea Zonta Fashion Shows, and sharing her knowledge in impeccable style with fashions in clothing and accessories.
In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her siblings and their spouses: Lottie and Leo Rowen, Chester and Rita Galewski, Jennie and John Carbone, Wanda and Joseph Winn, Helen and Henry Sikora, Alfons and Catherine Galewski, Francis and Kathleen Galewski, and Mary and Anthony DiNallo. She is also lovingly survived by her niece and caregiver, Linda Caruso and her husband, “Savy” along with numerous loving nieces, nephews, grand and great grand nieces and nephews.

Joshua Luis Mendez Ramos
Of Chelsea
Relatives and friends attended funeral services for Joshua L. Mendez Ramos on Thursday, July 18, in the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea. Services concluded with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
At 28 years of age, Joshua passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 10.
Born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, he was the beloved son of Cynthia Ramos and Harry Mendez, Jr. Joshua grew up in Chelsea where he attended local schools and resided for most of his life. He worked locally as a warehouseman and delivery driver of plumbing supplies. In his lifetime, Joshua enjoyed playing video games and watching animated TV programs.
In addition to his parents, he is lovingly survived by his siblings: Jonathan Mendez, Keila Mendez, Sol Mendez, Isaac Mendez and Juan Carlos Mendez. He was the cherished grandson of Sol Iris Mendez, Harry Mendez, Sr., and the late Teresa Cordero. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Isidro M. Fortes de Brito
April 4, 1984 – July 21, 2024
Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend visiting hours for Isidro M. Fortes de Brito on Friday, July 26th from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, July 27th at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, 59 Nichols St., Chelsea. Services will conclude with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. At 40 years of age, Isidro passed away suddenly Sunday, July 21st at Whidden Memorial CHA Hospital in Everett. Isidro lived courageously with type I diabetes for many years. Born in Benguela, Angola, at the age of ten he came to Chelsea with his family and was raised by his parents, Antonio Carvalho de Brito and Idalina Fortes de Brito. Isidro attended local schools, graduated from Chelsea High School and remained a lifelong Chelsea resident. He worked for Mondelez International as a customer service specialist, displaying and marketing bakery goods and products to numerous grocery stores. Remembered as a hardworking man, his life’s true devotion was to home and family, raising seven children and caring for his parents. This devotion extended to his whole family, forever concerned for their well-being, support, and welfare. His unexpected visits were always welcomed by his loved ones. Calling each by a unique nickname he would have given them. In his personal time, he enjoyed driving or just riding his motorcycle. He was the devoted father of Giormani Fortes de Brito of Marlboro, Jayden Fortes de Brito of Danvers, Hailey de Pina Brito, Keenan Rocha de Brito, Olivia de Brito, Steiciany de Pina Brito, and Ryleigh de Brito, all of Chelsea; loving son of Antonio Carvalho de Brito of Chelsea and the late Idalina Fortes de Brito; dear brother of Joao de Brito and Daniel de Brito, both of Benguela, Angola, Eurico de Brito, Maria de Brito, Carlos de Brito, Dianela de Brito, Jorge de Brito, and Jose de Brito, all of Chelsea, Leonel de Brito of Boston, Lucia de Brito and Ana de Brito, both of Everett. Isidro is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, cousins and many extended family members and friends.
