Constantinos Boussios has announced his intention to run for City Councilor in District 2.The following is his statement:
“My name is Constantinos Boussios. I am a City Councilor candidate in District 2. I immigrated from Greece to study and I earned a PhD in Engineering from MIT. I lead the Data Science department at a Boston healthcare company. I am married to Natalia Sesma Lopez, an elementary school teacher, and we have a young daughter.
I am guided by common sense, practical thinking and a preference for finding middle ground and consensus. I am committed to an open-door policy for my constituents, ensuring that your concerns are heard. Speaking and connecting with you has been the most fulfilling part of campaigning.
Chelsea is a vibrant and diverse city. It is also the second most densely populated city in Massachusetts and it continues growing rapidly. Growth without a plan, straining our infrastructure and quality of life.
• I support the development of a new Master Plan for Chelsea for the first time since the 1970s. A new Master Plan would outline the city’s modern goals and policies, shaped by the input of all residents.
• I’ll protect critical infrastructure, secure clean water, maintain roads, and preserve open spaces.
• Education is top priority; I’ll support programs for academic excellence and practical experiences in our schools.
• I’ll safeguard street parking options, recognizing their importance in our densely populated city.
• I will advocate for low-income families and children, ensuring policies protect our most vulnerable residents.
• I strongly support our Veterans at the Soldiers’ Home. They deserve our unwavering support. Their welfare, and the welfare of our entire area, is currently threatened by corporate interests and development plans. I am actively involved in the ongoing Zoning Board hearings and I invite you all to participate.
Please vote for me on November 7”
