We invite our community to join together for

Cultural Memory as a Path to Wellness: Anchoring Storytelling and Performative Arts.

This event is being created to bring in sound and dance as practice rooted in multi ethnic traditions and modalities for multicultural community. Sharing the importance of memory and cultural heritage that supports interconnectivity and wellness.

As Hispanic Heritage Month began, we come together for a remembering of our Ancestors, Cultural Heritage and Elders, Mother Earth and our Shared Stewardship.

It is also Fall Equinox, beginning a new cycle and season to connect with Nature and Greenspace, and each other as collective holders and cultural shapers within our own constituencies and communities. These all strengthen community resiliency and our wellness.

Special thanks to the Chelsea Cultural Council who through a heritage grant made this possible.

To partnering organizations such as Chelsea Public Schools, Greenroots, Nube: Neighbors United for a Better East Boston, Chelsea Black Coalition and Ayni Institute. This has been a beautiful creation of many hands. We are pleased to be together on Saturday!

Join us in welcoming Theresa Okokon as Host. Theresa wears many hats and comes to us as a Chelsea resident and Co-Director of PBS, Stories From The Stage:

“I moved to Chelsea just over a year ago, and was lucky and grateful to have this community immediately embrace me. When I met Marisol and she told me about this project, I knew it would only deepen the sense of home that I was beginning to cultivate here.

Chelsea is a community rich in and celebratory of culture, and at the same time I think this is a place that is hungry for opportunities to deepen our collective sense of community and togetherness.

The Cultural Memory as a Path to Wellness event is a contribution towards the bridge between who Chelsea is, and who we strive to be.'” Theresa Okokon, Event Host.
