Car Into Telephone Pole

On Aug. 12, at  2:01 a.m., CPD officers responded to the area of 410 Beacham St. on the report of a single-vehicle accident with a car into a telephone pole. Officers observed the aftermath of the crash. The operator, who refused medical treatment on-scene, was deemed to be operating under the influence of alcohol after officers conducted a roadside assessment. He was taken into custody and charged with OUI.

Carlos Garcia Bautista, 42, of East Boston, was charged with operating under the influence of liquor.

Firearm Offenses

On Aug. 16, at 6:40 p.m., while on patrol in the area of City Hall Avenue, a CPD detective observed a Volkswagen traveling down City Hall Avenue. The detective reported the vehicle to have safety violations, including a broken windshield. The car was stopped and the operator who had a suspended license was removed from the vehicle.  The male operator was found to be in possession of an illegal handgun as well as drugs. He was placed under arrest.

Angel Gomez, 25, of Cambridge, was charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, equipment violations, possession of a firearm without a permit, possession of ammo without a permit, carrying a loaded firearm without a permit, possession of a Class B drug and possession to distribute a Class D drug.

Spat on a Police Officer

On Aug. 18, at 11:30 a.m., officers responded to 9 Park St. for the report of a disturbance between mother and son. Officers arrived and were met by the son, who threatened the officers and began screaming profanities. The male was placed under arrest. The subject while being booked became combative with officers and spat in the face of a CPD officer.

Jaylen Zayas, 19, of 9 Park St., was charged with disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer.

Assaulted Witness in Court Case

On Sunday, Aug. 18, at 2:25 p.m., officers responded to McDonald’s in  Bellingham Square for a report of a disturbance. The officers spoke to the victim, who stated another male threatened him and assaulted him over an upcoming court appearance involving both men. The subject was placed under arrest in Bellingham Square.

Milton Fajardo, 41, of 76 Willow St., was charged with intimidating a witness, two counts of threatening to commit a crime and two counts of assault.
