Heroin Bust on Spencer

On March 25, the Chelsea Police narcotics unit executed a search warrant at 123 Spencer Ave. #3. The Search Warrant was the result of an investigation into a male suspect that resides at that address for the distribution of Heroin. During the inquiry, narcotics detectives established Probable Cause of narcotics dealing. As a result of the search warrant, the male subject was placed under arrest.

Sandy Villalona-Avalo, 32, of 123 Spencer Ave., was charged with trafficking in 100 grams or more of heroin.

CHS Student Caught with Brass Knuckles

On March 28 at 2 p.m., the CPD officer assigned to Chelsea High was summoned to the administration office. The CPD officer was notified that the juvenile in the office had two sets of “brass knuckles” in his possession.  The youth was arrested on scene.

A 17-year-old Chelsea resident was charged with two counts of carrying a dangerous weapon. 

Attacked with Knife

On March 30, at 4:20 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of 25 Library St. for a report of a fight. The victim stated he witnessed a disturbance in front of his house and went outside to see what was going on. He observed several kids fighting in the street. The victim stated that he went to break up the altercation when a male party wearing a red hoodie and gray sweat pants took out a knife from his pocket and lunged at him – almost hitting him in the face with the weapon. The officers identified the juvenile and placed him under arrest.

A 17-year-old juvenile was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

Unarmed Robbery

On March 30, at 10:30 p.m., CPD officers responded to the 7-11 located at the corner of Broadway and Stockton Streets to speak to a victim of a reported robbery. The victim stated he was robbed of his iPhone by two males. The victim gave officers a description, and CPD officers detained two males that fit that description. The victim positively identified both and placed both under arrest.

Ahmed Sidow, 19, of 3 Clinton St., and a 16-year-old Chelsea juvenile was charged with unarmed robbery.

Stole Money from Purses

On March 31, at 4:25 p.m. officers were dispatched to Los Agaves restaurant located at 950 Broadway for a report of a larceny. The victims, both employees, told officers that a customer entered an area where both victims left their purses and stole money from them. Video surveillance indicated the person on the scene was involved and ultimately arrested.

Moet Pichardo, 22, of Wakefield, was charged with two counts of larceny from a building.
