Vicente Guilherme

Devoted to family

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, March 28 in St. Rose Church for Vicente D. Guilherme. Services concluded with Vicente being placed to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery. Vicente entered eternal rest on Thursday morning, March 22 at the Eastpointe Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Chelsea, surrounded by his loving family. He was 72 years old.

Born in Garca, Santo Antao of the Cape Verde Islands, he was the son of the late Domingos Guilherme and Elvira M. Rocha. Vicente attended school in Cape Verde. He came to the United States in 1984, settled in Chelsea and had resided here since coming to this country.

Vicente worked in food preparation all of his life. First as a chef for the Merchant Marines and then as a server for Gateway Gourmet at Logan Airport. He retired eight years ago, dedicating his time to his very large family.

Although never marrying or having children of his own, Vicente took great pride in being a brother and an uncle.   He enjoyed watching soccer and all the Boston sports teams play. He also enjoyed watching WWF wrestling in his spare time. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. Vicente is one of 13 siblings: the beloved brother of Beatrice Gomes of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Isabel Monteiro of Paris, France, Antonia Andrade of Chelsea, Eulalia Delgado of Senegal, Dakar, Sevilha Rocha of Chelsea, Martano Guilherme of Cape Verde, Germano Guilherme of Lisbon, Portugal, Maria Lima and Cirilo Guilherme, both of Paris, France and the late Honorato Guilherme, Joao Guilherme and Bartolomeu Guilherme. He is also lovingly survived by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Charles John DiPerri

May 5, 1953 – March 19, 2018

Charles ‘Charlie’ John DiPerri passed away Monday, March 19 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a long illness. He was 64 years old.

Born in Boston, the son of the late John and Anina (Lachiana) DiPerri, Charlie grew up in Chelsea and attended Chelsea Public Schools. Due to his illness, it was difficult for Charlie to work. But, for a short time, he worked as a car attendant at Logan Airport.

He was the father of Andrea Allen of Florida, dear brother of Maryanne Arsenault and her husband, John of Chelsea, Ronald DiPerri of Tewksbury, Linda Anderson and her husband, David of Tewksbury and the late Karen Lentine. He is also survived by two grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements were by the Frank A. Welsh & Sons Funeral Home, Chelsea.
