We join the community in offering our congratulations to the Chelsea city officials who were inaugurated in an impressive ceremony in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
Both the City Council and School Committee have welcomed new members. Chelsea residents voiced their desire for change in the November elections and now the City Council and School Committee – new members and returning members- must work together to continue to make our city a better place to live.
City Manager Tom Ambrosino has begun to launch new initiatives in the city, continuing the progress made during the tenure of former City Manager Jay Ash.
We believe the new City Council will continue to enjoy a strong, professional relationship with Mr. Ambrosino, who had a unifying presence when he was mayor of Revere and worked so well with the Revere City Council.
Supt. of Schools Dr. Mary Bourque can count on the School Committee members to help advance our school system and maximize the educational experience of each student. Dr Bourque has been a dynamic leader – and a great role model for young women we might add – and we expect to see even brighter days ahead for our schools.
Chelsea’s city government is in good hands and we wish our first-year city officials and those who have served so commendably in the past the best of luck in 2016 and beyond.
