The Chelsea High School (CHS) graduation exercises will take place on Sunday afternoon, June 8, at 1 p.m., in the Memorial Stadium.
This year’s valedictorian is Milica Ivanis, who will attend Yale University. Salutatorian is Victor Le, who will attend Swarthmore College.
The class officers are President Mark Figueroa, Vice President Brenda Romero, Secretary Thi Le, Treasurer We’aam Arman, and Historian Ivana Valentin.
This year there are three POSSE Scholars from CHS.
The POSSE Schoarship is a full ride scholarship available to urban school students that give them a full tuition scholarship to one of handful of private partner schools outside of the region. In addition to the scholarship, the program associated with it provides preparation and supports for students who accept it.
This year Mark Figueroa and Jailene Paz are POSSE scholars and will attend Centre College in Kentucky and Robert Templehof will attend Denison University in Ohio.
Additionally, the Simboli Family College Award is being awarded to 13 students, bringing the number of awardees to more than 100 over the time that the Simboli Family has been sponsoring the scholarship.
The Simboli Family owns ACS Development Company, which is preparing to build the new FBI Regional Headquarters just down from CHS.
