For more than two decades, Taste of Chelsea has brought together restaurants, businesses, neighbors, and community members in support of domestic violence survivors. What began as a community event has become a beloved HarborCOV tradition, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who has helped make it possible.
This year, we are taking a pause from Taste of Chelsea.
Our local restaurant and vendor partners have given so generously to this event over the years, donating food, time, staff, and resources to support HarborCOV and survivors in our community. We know that many of these businesses are navigating rising costs, staffing challenges, and an increasingly difficult operating environment. Given these challenges, and after more than 20 years of asking our vendors to show up for us, we believe this is the right time to pause the event, honor the generosity of our restaurant partners, and give our vendors an opportunity to focus their time and resources on their businesses.
This pause is an opportunity to appreciate the incredible commitment our vendors have made to HarborCOV. We are grateful for every meal donated, every staff member who worked the event, and every restaurant that opened its doors to our community in support of survivors. During this year, we will be reimagining and rebranding Taste of Chelsea, with plans to bring the event back in a new form that reflects the changing needs of our community and creates a sustainable experience for the restaurants, businesses, and supporters who make it possible.
While Taste of Chelsea is taking a year off, our work continues, and so does the need. Each year, hundreds of survivors facing imminent homelessness turn to HarborCOV for shelter and support. HarborCOV’s Community Housing Initiative provides emergency, transitional, and permanent housing alongside the wraparound support survivors need to move from crisis toward long-term safety and stability.
We hope you will continue to stand with HarborCOV and local survivors. If you would like to support our work during this year away from Taste of Chelsea, we encourage you to make a gift to HarborCOV. Your support helps ensure that survivors have access to safe housing, crisis support, and the resources they need to build lives free from violence.
