WINARC successful Fundraiser
To the Editor,
The WINARC Board members would like to thank everyone who was involved in our successful 10th Annual Walk, Run, or Roll Fundraiser held at Deer Island on May 3rd. Generous support was given by many: the participants who traveled the 2.6 miles around Deer Island during the light rain, sponsors and contributors who gave their financial support via donations of money, raffle items, and food for the participants. The cooperation of the MWRA staff was immense, allowing us to use their facility and managing the entrance road and parking. The student volunteers provided necessary assistance to help make the event run smoothly.
With the help of local residents, businesses, and community organizations, a substantial amount of money was raised which allows WINARC to continue to provide social and recreational activities for children and adults living in Winthrop, Revere, East Boston, and Chelsea.
