Lottery Calendar Fundraiser
The Zonta Club of Chelsea and North Shore has just completed its Lottery Calendar Fundraiser, historically one of its most successful fundraiser events. Local businesses and individuals sponsor the fundraiser, and calendars are sold for $25 each. Winners are drawn daily during the month of January. Prizes this year totaled more than $1600 in gift cards for goods and services.
Christine DePrizio is credited for this fundraising idea and has been the organizer for its success for several years as chair of Zonta’s Fundraising Committee. Christine is shown selling calendars in October, 2025 at the Zonta, District I Fall Conference which was held at Boston’s Embassy Suites Hotel.
Proceeds from the fundraiser enable the club to support local programs and projects in the areas of food, safety, health and education, highlighting women and girls. Zonta contributes to programs in Chelsea, Revere, Winthrop, Saugus and Everett. Some of these include: a young mothers’ program at ROCA; annual scholarships to graduating senior girls; bi-annual food cards for families in need; food pantries in Chelsea; Girls on the Run program in Chelsea Public Schools; HarborCOV; personal items for women in specialized BayCove housing; prom clothing for Chelsea high school students; summer camp, Toys for Tots through the Salvation Army, and the Chelsea Public Library.
The Zonta Club of Chelsea and North Shore heartily thanks its many generous local sponsors and all those who purchased calendars to support Zonta’s work. Our sponsors this year:

Donating to ROCA’s Young Women’s Program
The Zonta Club of Chelsea and North Shore recently delivered needed items to ROCA’s Young Women’s Program in Chelsea. The gift was the club’s 20266 annual project supporting programs that help women and girls. ROCA’s Young Women’s Program does just that, providing needed services to at-risk young women, many of whom are young mothers. Each year the Zonta Club provides a local gift marking the globally recognized 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, between November 25 and December 10.
