Valerie B. LaFauci
July 21, 1934 – July 24 2025
At the age of 91, Valerie LaFauci passed away peacefully at Beverly Hospital on Thursday, July 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a period of declining health.
A former longtime resident of Chelsea, she had resided in Danvers at the New England Home for the Deaf for the past five years.
Valerie was born and raised in Chelsea, one of four children of the late Vincent and Beatrice (Kowalski) Dalton. She received her education at the Horace Mann School for the Deaf in Boston, where she fostered a love for learning that would carry throughout her life.
In 1953, Valerie married Albert J. LaFauci, with whom she shared a deep bond for 61 years until his passing in 2014. Together, they nurtured a loving family, raising one daughter and two sons. Valerie was an unwavering source of strength and support for her loved ones, cherishing the role of devoted mother and grandmother.
Professionally, Valerie made her mark as a Data Processor for PartyLite at their Plymouth office, where she diligently commuted from her home in Chelsea for many years before retiring in 2006.
Valerie was also a dedicated member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Lawrence, where she found community and fellowship.
Throughout her life, she expressed her creativity through home crafts, delighting family and friends with her knitting and crocheting prowess. The numerous afghans, baby blankets, and sweaters she created are treasured mementos that will forever remain in the hearts of those she loved.
In addition to her parents and husband, Valerie was predeceased by her son, John J. LaFauci and his husband, John J. Dumas, as well as her siblings and their spouses Joan and Jim Arsenault and Barbara and Jim Updyke.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Diana Ligocki of Chelsea, and her late husband, Henry; her son, Albert V. LaFauci, and his wife, Arlene of Ossipee, NH; and cherished grandchildren: Henry Ligocki, Matthew and his wife, Carrie, all of Chelsea, Albert LaFauci of Everett, Christina Zalaket and her husband, James of Derry, NH, Anthony LaFauci of Medford, Cross Woodfield of East Boston, and Ryan LaFauci of Ossipee, NH; her brother, John Dalton and his wife, Teresa of Arizona. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Vivianna, and Isaac Ligocki and Dominic Zalaket. Valerie is additionally survived by her lifelong friend, Shirley Vigna and her family, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Annette Gold
A unique strong woman with high ideals and a generous spirit
Annette Gold, devoted and loving wife to Marvin R. Gold, with whom she shared 68 years of marriage, and cherished mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025 at the age of 89.
Born and raised in Chelsea, Annette spent 68 years in Revere where she lived with her husband and family.
Annette was the oldest of four children of Harry and Bella Altman.
While Annette raised her family, she worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for several employers up until age 77. Annette was known for her meticulous record keeping and accounting.
Annette was a unique, strong woman with high ideals that she instilled in her family. At the same time, she had a generous spirit, was good-hearted and was always willing to lend a hand to others. Annette’s greatest joy was in spending time with family and friends. She was present for every one of life’s milestones of her family. She was tough, a strong advocate for family and friends and a strict disciplinarian when warranted. By the same token, Annette was compassionate, loyal and caring to others. She was always there for everyone.
Annette is survived by her loving husband, Marvin Gold, her daughter, Deborah Gold-Alexander, and her husband, Richard Alexander and her grandson, Charles Alexander, her son, David Gold and his wife, Deborah Cunio Gold, her granddaughter, Amanda Perez and her husband, Peter Perez, great grandson, Nicholas Perez, and her granddaughter, Samantha Gold. She was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Magovsky and brother-in-law, Murray Magovsky, and leaves behind her brothers, Richard Altman and Leonard Altman, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services were held Wednesday, July 30 at 11 a.m. at the Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave., Chelsea. Interment was in Everett. Donations in Annette’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
