Apollinaire Play Lab invites young performers to join their Performance Project, a dynamic theatre program that runs from July 14 to September 21, culminating in performances of It’s Elementary, directed by Audrey Johnson, at Apollinaire’s Festival this fall.
For Ages 6–9
Does your child love to perform, play pretend, or take center stage? This track is tailored for our youngest performers, offering fun, supportive rehearsals twice a week. Participants will work together to bring It’s Elementary to life and will take the stage at the Festival* in September.
For Ages 10–14
Calling all aspiring actors! Youth in this age group will audition to take part in the program, which focuses on actor training, character development, and ensemble performance. Rehearsals are held twice weekly, led by experienced theatre professionals. Participants will perform more challenging pieces from the It’s Elementary collection at Apollinaire’s Festival* in September.
*About the Festival
To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Apollinaire is launching a Festival and Open House on September 20 and 21. The Chelsea Theatre Works building and Chelsea Square will feature free performances, workshops, art exhibitions, youth and bilingual activities, an Escape Room, and local food and craft vendors. Some highlights of the event include youth performances of It’s Elementary, as well as a special original play created and performed (within just 48 hours!) by Apollinaire actors from the past three decades.
