Special to the Record
The Chelsea Police Department (CPD), in partnership with the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce, is calling on the community to donate gently used prom attire and accessories for Chelsea High School students in need through the Chelsea PROMise Initiative.
The Chelsea PROMise Initiative aims to provide prom attire to students who may not have the resources to afford these items on their own. CPD and the Chamber are requesting donations of dresses, tuxedos, dress shoes, heels, and accessories to help ensure that all Chelsea students can attend prom.
Chelsea Police Chief Keith Houghton said, “The Chelsea PROMise initiative is a testament to our commitment to building stronger relationships with our students and many local partners. Through collaboration with the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce and our dedicated social media team, we continue to develop innovative ways to support and engage our youth. By working together, we’re hoping that every student has the opportunity to enjoy their prom night with confidence and pride.”
“We are honored to be asked to participate to support and collaborate with the Chelsea Police Department on such a great cause,” said Jennifer Hassell, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce.
Items will be collected until April 17, 2025, at the following locations:
• Chelsea Police Department Wishing Well – 19 Park St, Chelsea, MA 02150
• Chelsea Chamber of Commerce – 308 Broadway, Chelsea, MA 02150
Additionally, the department is accepting monetary donations, which will be directed to the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce, a registered 501(c)(6) non profit organization.
