Brian W. Ford, Jr.

January 21, 1987 – August 28, 2023

Private services were conducted for Brian W. Ford., Jr., who passed away suddenly on Monday, August 28.  He was 36 years of age.

Born in Malden and raised in Winthrop, Brian was a beloved son of the late Joanne E. (Studley) Ford and Brian W. Ford., Sr. 

A resident of Chelsea for the past eight years, he also lived for a time in Georgia and Saugus.

Brian attended schools in the Greater Boston area and worked for several years as a private livery driver.

In his lifetime, Brian loved spending weekends with his father.  He enjoyed computer video games and served as a game tester for newly developed games.  His online activities introduced him to a large community of online friends.   

In addition to his parents, Brian was predeceased by his uncles, John “Jack” Ford and Michael Studley, his cousin, Patty Ford, and his beloved dog, “Mouse.” 

Brian is survived by his brother, Matthew A. Ford of Malden and, on his father’s side of the family, his aunt, Carol Ford of Chelsea, uncle, Michael Ford and aunts, Grace Chu and Beverly Minsky, all of Saugus; cousins, Rick, Desirae and Nicolette and cousin-in-law, Dan.  On his mother’s side, Brian is survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins, aunts: Erin, Mary and Cynthia; Marilena, Loan and Bonnie; uncles: Arthur, Rodney, Paul and David and cousins: Christina, Danielle and Anne; Therese, Paul, Jr., and Justin; Derek, Cody and Nicholas and Aiden, Charlie, and Danny.  He is also survived by several extended family members and many friends and acquaintances from his online community, who reached out to share their love and support upon hearing of Brian’s untimely passing.

Rita Jean Clark

November 02, 1953 – September 18, 2023

Rita Jean (Goodrich) Clark lived courageously with various ongoing illnesses for several years and passed away suddenly in her home on Monday, Sept. 18.  She was 69 years of age.  

Born in Chelsea on November 2, 1953, she was a beloved daughter of the late Charles E. Sr., and Elizabeth (Levy) Goodrich.  

A lifelong resident of Chelsea, Rita attended local schools and was a graduate of Chelsea High School.  

She was married to Vincent Clark for 35 years and raised two sons. 

Passionately devoted to home and family, she also worked outside of her home beginning as an aide at the Chelsea Soldiers Home, a teacher’s aide at the Williams School and as a retail clerk at Bradley’s Dept. Store, all before retiring in 1992.  She is fondly remembered as a real people person and confidant; her magnetic personality and goodhearted nature drew many to be close to her.  

In addition to her parents, Rita was also predeceased by two sisters: Helen Lavoie and Amelia McComiskey and brothers: Charles E., Jr., Frederick H., Richard, William, and Henry Goodrich.   

She is lovingly survived by her beloved husband, Vincent Clark, her devoted and caring sons; Ronnie Kennedy and Norman Kennedy and his wife, Kristy, all of Chelsea.  She was the adoring grandmother of Mikayla and Amanda Kennedy, and dear sister of Joseph Goodrich of Georgia.

Michael A. Tango

December 21, 1940 – July 21, 2023

Relatives and friends are most kindly invited to attend a Memorial Mass and Military Honors for Michael Angelo Tango on Thursday, October 26, at 10 a.m. in St Michael the Archangel Chapel (Chelsea Veterans Home), 91 Crest Ave., Chelsea.  

Michael, fondly known as Sonny, of Plymouth passed away at the Chelsea Veterans Home on Friday, July 21st. He was 82 years of age. 

The son of John Tango and Margaret (Venitiza) Tango, he was born in Boston on December 21, 1940. 

Michael served in the Armed Forces of the United States from August 5, 1964 – August 4, 1966, when he was honorably discharged from the Navy Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron.  

Michael pursued a career as a master electrician, owning his own business and working at the General Dynamics Shipyard in Quincy on the LNG Tankers, preparing them for seaworthy trials.  His passion for teaching and working with people led him to become an instructor at Upper Cape Regional Technical School offering the journeyman’s electric code classes preparing his students for licensure. 

He enjoyed gardening, family camping trips, providing care for the many farm animals that his children had the privilege to be raised with, coaching his daughter’s soccer team, trips to the casino with his son and, most of all, striking up a conversation with anyone and everyone.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He was a great father, brother and son. 

Michael leaves his daughters: Gioia and Nicole, and a son, Tyrone, all of Plymouth.  He was predeceased by his former wife, Jeannette M. Tango of Plymouth. He leaves his sisters, Marguerite and Joanne and his brothers, John Jr. and Frank.  He was predeceased by his sister, Marie.  He has many nieces and nephews who will miss Uncle Sonny. 

The family is very grateful for the wonderful care given by The Soldier’s Home in Chelsea and asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to The Soldier’s Home, 91 Crest Ave. Chelsea, MA 02150-2154.
