Michael J. ”Mike” Henry
June 29, 1951 – May 15, 2023
On Saturday, June 3, close to 100 family and friends of Michael J “Mike” Henry gathered at the Brown Jug in Chelsea to say goodbye to our uncle, father, husband, friend and “Papa.” Michael J Henry Sr, recently a resident of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, but formerly of Revere and Charlestown, who entered into eternal life suddenly on Monday, May 15, 2023.
He was 71 years of age.
Mike was born in Everett on June 29, 1951, a son of the late John W and Josephine (Frances) Henry. He grew up in Charlestown and graduated from Charlestown High School where he was a member of the Majestic Knights Marching Band.
Following his graduation, he served in the United States Army before starting his career with US Airways where he worked for 35 years before his retirement.
Mike was the beloved husband of 34 years to Beverly (Bishop) Henry and the devoted father of Michael J. Henry, Jr and his companion Lynsey Gowens. He was also a proud “papa” to Michael J Henry III, Ezra Cantin, Chase and Ethan Gowens.
In life Mike was a generous and friendly man who was always willing to do anything to help a friend or family member in need. He will be remembered and missed by his loved ones.
Michael was the beloved brother of John W Henry, Jr and his wife, Elizabeth Kurkjian, Eileen (Henry) Ward and her husband, John, Daniel F Henry and his wife, Linda Leach.
He was the proud uncle to Stephanie, Brian, Jake, Brittany, Daniel, Kayla and Conor on the Henry side of the family and to Joseph,
