Devout Catholic, She Will Truly Be Missed by All
Maria L. Cosco, 82, of Chelsea, passed away peacefully, Family Life Center in Chelsea provided an environment that rooted her peace-filled leave due to the meticulous care and love provided by the staff.
In earlier years, Maria attended the Everett and Chelsea school systems graduating from St. Rose High School and eventually fulfilled a higher education platform at Boston College. That college training prepared her for early service to families in New York where she used her teaching skills to tutor students before exploring opportunities as a Marine Biologist.
Maria was an avid lover of horses. During her time on Long Island, she participated in Equestrian competitions before returning home to Chelsea where she ultimately became the primary care giver to her mother. Maria is survived by her brothers, Vin Cosco and his wife, Mary and Bob John; niece, Anne Bladd and her husband, Bill and their children, Zachary, Brittany, Julia, and Sarah; nephew, Vin Cosco and his wife, Tara and their children, Michael and David; nephew, Jon Cosco and his wife, Elise and their children, Nathanial and Yi Ai; nephew, Jim Cosco and his partner, Sonia; nephew, Chris Cosco and his son, Joshua; niece, Nicole Buisson and her children, Ben and Henry and nephew Rob Cosco and his children, Candice and Miriam; cousins: Theresa, Anne, John, Carolyn, Joyce, Faith, Hope and Stephen; and hundreds of souls, with whom Maria connected, always extending her spirit to leave a sense of love sprinkled upon them. Her family and friends feel blessed to have shared her journey with her in the time she was given and she will be truly missed by all.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 29 at 11 a.m. at Ste. Marie Church in Manchester, NH. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend. Committal Prayers will be offered at the end of the funeral mass as interment will be held privately in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Jose David Garza Rodriguez
January 16, 1967 – April 17, 2023
Jose David Garza Rodriguez passed away in his home on Monday April 17. He was 56 years of age.
Born and raised in Izabal Morales, Guatemala, he was a beloved son of the late Maria Aguilar Rodriguez and Samuel Garza. As young man, he settled briefly in East Boston and has resided in Chelsea for the past 20 years.
He was married to Clara Elena Cruz Hernandez and worked locally for 15 years at Minichiello Bros, “Scrap-It” metal recycling as a mechanic. He also traded used cars, buying, repairing and selling secondhand vehicles. He was a cattle rancher in Guatemala and still operated his ranch raising and selling livestock and maintained several homes and real estate in Guatemala. He is remembered for his life’s devotion to family and hard work.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Clara E. Cruz Hernandez. He was the devoted father of Jennifer Garay, David Garay of Newton and loving stepfather of Yansy Avilenis Melara of Chelsea and Heidy Rivas of Texas. He was the dear brother of Elias Garza Rodriguez and Adolfo Garza Rodriguez, both of Chelsea and Miguel Garza Rodriguez of Guatemala.
Funeral arrangements were by the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea. Interment was at Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn.

Lawrence “L” Campbell, Jr.
September 27, 1989 – April 11, 2023
Of Jacksonville, Florida, at 33 years of age, Lawrence “L” Campbell, Jr. passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 11. Lawrence grew up in Brockton and graduated from Brockton High School. A resident of Jacksonville for the past three years, Lawrence worked to support his family as a self-employed independent truck driver. He was married to Adriana Marie Santiago for twelve years together raising their two sons and daughter. Lawrence was passionately devoted to home and family. He enjoyed his time on family vacations and is well remembered for his sense of humor, his ability to make others laugh and his own warm smile.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Adriana Marie Santiago, his most cherished children, Jeremiah, Noah, and Zemirah. He was the loving son of Dominique Dieudonne and her husband, Esthenor Rene; dear brother of Christopher Policard and Gregory Policard; dearly loved son-in-law of Marie Sanchez-Lopez and Lyle Lopez. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Relatives and friends attended his funeral service on Saturday, April 22 in the First Haitian Church of Brockton, 940 So. Main St., Brockton. Services concluded with interment at St. Michael Cemetery, 227 Walk Hill St., Roslindale.

Jose David Salas Rodriguez
July 8, 1967 – April 19, 2023
Jose David Salas Rodriguez passed away suddenly on Wednesday, April 19. He was 55 years of age.
Born and raised in Moca, Puerto Rico, he was a beloved son of Martina Gonzalez and Luis Salas. Jose was a Chelsea resident for most of his life and worked as laborer and handyman. In his lifetime, Jose enjoyed playing bingo at the Chelsea Senior Center, lottery games, playing cards, and his Dunkin Ice Coffee and donuts.
Jose is lovingly survived by his mother, Martina Gonzalez, his sister, Lissette Salas and brother, Alberto Salas. He is also survived by his dear friend and home health aide, Julia Melendez.

Vincent James Cosco Jr.
His Joy and Legacy Is His Beautiful Family
Vincent James Cosco Jr. of Methuen, formerly of Melrose and Chelsea, entered into eternal rest on April 20. Vincent was born in Boston in 1939, the son of Vincent James Cosco and his wife, Mary L. (Yakubovich) Cosco. He will be missed by all those he knew and loved. He leaves behind his dear brother Robert of Manchester, NH and his late dear sister, Maria L. of Chelsea along with cousins and many nieces and nephews. He was the beloved husband of Mary Ann (McHatton) Cosco with whom he was happily married for 60 years. He is survived by Mary and their four children: Anne and her husband, William Bladd of Winchester, Vincent (3rd) and his wife, Tara (Ducott) Cosco of Litchfield, NH, Jon (Jonathan) Cosco and his wife, Elise Zoli of Ipswich and James Cosco and his partner, Sonia Anathakrishnan of Belmont. Vincent and Mary were the proud grandparents of eight wonderful grandchildren: Brittania, Zachary, Sarah, Julia, Michael, David, Nathanial and Yi Ai. Vincent’s joy and legacy was his beautiful family. He cherished the quality time he was able to spend with all of them especially watching and sharing in their activities. Over the years he saw them grow in so many ways to become loving and caring human beings always ready to help others less fortunate and he was so very proud of each of them.
Visitation was held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Wednesday, April 26 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Incarnation Church, 425 Upham St., Melrose.
