Red Devils Compete at Frosh/Soph Meet
A contingent of freshmen and sophomore members of the Chelsea High indoor track and field team competed in this past Saturday’s Large School Division of the Mass. Freshman/Sophomore Meet that was held at the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury.
The top performers for the Red Devils were sophomore Emmanuel Simon, who finished 34th among the large field of 91 competitors (all of whom had to qualify for the meet) with a sprint of 7.33 seconds in the 55 meter dash, and freshman Nate Nadow, who came across the line in 28th position among the field of 60 in the 600 dash in a clocking of 1:38.61.
Other Red Devils who competed were sophomore Nasir Adams in the 55 dash with a time of 7.63; sophomore Johnny Maldonado in the two-mile with a run of 11:46.48; and sophomore Henri Martinez in the shot-put with a toss of 31’-1.” On the girls’ side, Gabriela Rivas competed in the 600 dash, turning in a fine performance of 2:02.60
