Suspect Arrested on Murder Charges for Blossom Street Shooting

An Everett man is in custody for Tuesday night’s fatal shooting on Blossom Street in Chelsea.

Jonathan Castro Sala, 22, is charged with murder. He was expected to be arraigned in Chelsea District Court Wednesday for the homicide of a man in his 20s on Blossom Street. The victim has been tentatively identified but his name is not being released at this time.

Chelsea Police detectives and State Police homicide detectives assigned to Conley’s office responded to the area of 52 Blossom St. at about 9 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a person shot. Based on witness interviews, physical evidence recovered at the scene, and other information developed through the overnight hours, prosecutors approved Sala’s arrest Wednesday morning.

The Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit has jurisdiction over death investigations in Chelsea, Revere, Winthrop, and State property within the City of Boston. They were assisted last night by the State Police Crime Scene Services Section and troopers assigned to the Revere barracks.
