Donations to the local Salvation Army unit are down this Christmas, and City Manager Jay Ash is booked to do his best this Friday to ring the bell and raise money.
Earlier this week, Ash (r) stopped by Market Basket this past week to put his annual donation into the Salvation Army kettle. Ash, pictured with Market Basket Store Manager Kevin Feole (l) and Chelsea Salvation Army Captain Scott Peabody, will be manning the kettle this upcoming Friday from noon to 5 p.m.
“The Salvation Army does such great work in our community; we’re lucky to have them. I hope everyone who’ll be shopping at Market Basket or in the general area on Friday will stop by and show their appreciation by digging deep to help all the great people at the Salvation Army help those in our community who are in need,” said Ash.
