Although the Chelsea High softball team has been going through a rough stretch since its 21-9 win over Lynn Tech in the season opener, Coach Ted Freeley’s Lady Red Devils have been improving as the season moves along.
“We have a young team,” said Freeley, who has five sophomores and a freshman in his starting lineup, along with seniors Erin Kelley (who handles most of the pitching chores), Danielle Smith (catcher), and Katherine Pacas (third base) “We knew this would be a learning experience for many members of the team.”
Freshman Kiana Binford at shortstop, soph Darcy Smith at second base, and sophomore Anisa Santiago at first complete the CHS infield.
Freeley and his squad will travel to Lynn Tech tomorrow (Friday) in hopes of repeating their early-season triumph.
