We are very sorry to learn of the death of former Chelsea Provident Cooperative Bank President Irene Grzybinski. She died Wednesday morning.
Ms. Grzybinski was the first female president of a major Chelsea Bank in the city’s modern history.
She was a humble, quiet, able bank president who was well-known in banking circles here for 50 years.
A Funeral Mass will be held for her on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. at St. Stan’s. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Ms. Grzybinski had a presence at the bank.
She was the bottom line and helped to grow the bank during the 1980’s and into the 1990’s.
A funeral mass has been scheduled for her on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. from St. Stanislaus Church on Chestnut Street to be followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
The Welch Funeral Home is in charge of the preparations.
