Ron Robinson and Leo Robinson, co-director of the Lewis Latimer Society, unveiled the Latimer Collection during a ceremony June 23 at the Chelsa Public Library.
The event drew a large crowd of local historians, public officials, Chelsea Police officers and resident.
Born in Chelsea, Latimer was a brilliant scientist and inventor who worked collaboratively with Thomas Edison and Alexander Graham Bell.
The Robinsons thanked Library Director Lisa Muccciarone and Library Assistant Amanda Arsenault for their cooperation in the project. The elegant class case contains Mr. Latimer’s artifacts and science papers. It is located in the CPL reference room on the second floor.
