Diane Weinstein

Of Winthrop, formerly of Chelsea

Diane Weinstein, 86, formerly of Chelsea, and a longtime resident of Winthrop, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Diane was the beloved wife of the late Harry Weinstein, the devoted mother of Nancy Weinstein, Paul Weinstein and his wife, Marianne and Robert Weinstein and his wife, Nicole. She was the cherished grandmother of Leeanne Weinstein and her significant other, Dave Mellen.

Born and raised in Chelsea, Diane was the daughter of the late Sarah “Sally” Cooperstein and stepfather Nat Cooperstein. She spent many joyful summers as a member of the Pleasant Park Yacht Club, where she was surrounded by dear friends and family who enriched her life through the years.

Graveside services were held at Rabbi Isaac Elchonon Cemetery, 232 Fuller Street, Everett, on Friday, May 8 and memorial observance was private.

Virginia Silver

Retiree of the Chelsea District Court Clerk’s Office

Virginia A. (Graham) Silver passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, in Melrose.

She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph F. Silver and her son, Jay Joseph Francis Silver. She leaves behind her daughters, Meredith A. Dickenson of Wakefield, Virginia A. Silver and her husband, Paul A. Guarracino of Lynnfield and Jennifer A. Silver and her husband, John Goodwin of Wakefield. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Andrew Santonelli, Benjamin Santonelli, Merdith Santonelli, and Lily Silver, as well as her great grandchildren: Jack Santonelli, Eva Santonelli, Mila Santonelli, and Will Santonelli.

Virginia and her sisters: Mary Reardon, Ruth Jonas, Grace Fabiano, Helen Orlando, and Joan Benton grew up in Revere and attended the Immaculate Conception School. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

“Virginia, Mimi, Auntie Gin” was an accomplished cook and pastry chef. She dazzled friends and family with her wonderful dinners and incomparable pies, strudels, eclairs, cream puffs. Everything she made was delicious and beautifully presented.

She was a wonderful hostess and loved nothing more than sharing with her family, friends, and loved ones. Virginia’s needlework and Swedish weaving adorn the walls and tables of her daughters, granddaughters, and nieces.  She belonged to several needlepoint and arts organizations in Wakefield and other senior centers.

Virginia worked in the Clerk’s Office of the Chelsea District Court. She loved her job and retired after twenty-five years. After her retirement, she traveled extensively in Europe, Asia and Russia.    

Locally, she loved a road trip with her sisters and friends.

A private internment service will be held for her family.

Jill Suzanne Bryson

Assembly Line Worker for Northeast ARC and Member of Endicott Gardens and the Danvers Senior Center

Jill Suzanne Bryson passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at the Beverly Hospital in Beverly.  She was 72 years of age. Born in Malden, Jill was the daughter of the late Katherine E. (Harris) Palmer and Leon S. Bryson.

Jill grew up on Orange Street in Chelsea for many years before taking permanent residence in Danvers where she received excellent care and attention from the staff of Northeast Regional Services. She will be forever loved and cherished by her family, and her extended family at North Belgian Road.

Jill worked as an assembly line employee for more than thirty years at the Northeast Arc in Danvers where she was awarded their Individual Achievement Award in 1998. She was also a member of Endicott Gardens and the Danvers Senior Center. Jill loved bowling and was a member of the Arc bowling team, where she won first place in her league in 2006.

Jill enjoyed spending time with her family, listening to records and reading magazines. She enjoyed lunch dates, getting coffee and a donut, taking day trips, and vacations to Maine with Kelly and Cindy.

Jill was the dear aunt of Alexis Keane and her husband, Greg of Lakeville, MA, Adrienne Davies and her husband, Jon of Cumberland, RI, and Christopher Long and his wife, Kristen of Millbrook, AL. She was great aunt to Emilia and Isabel Keane, Charlotte and Ben Aubin, Lilly and Foster Davies; Sister to Scott Bryson of Walpole, MA.

Jill was predeceased by her father, Leon; her cherished mother, K. Elaine; her adored stepfather, Robert W. Palmer; and her beloved sister, Gail C. Long, and her husband, Robert.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours in the Carafa Family Funeral Home, 389 Washington Ave., Chelsea on Saturday, May 16 from 10 to  12 noon followed by a family reflection in the Funeral Home at 12 Noon.  Interment to follow at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Jill’s memory may be made to the Special Olympics of Massachusetts, 512 Forest St., Marlborough, MA 01752 or on-line at www.specialolympicsma.org
