Apollinaire Play Lab youth art exhibit opens March 30 in City Hall Gallery

The Chelsea City Hall Art Gallery will present an exhibition of original artwork by young Chelsea artists in grades 1–12, featuring artwork by current Apollinaire Play Lab students and winning works from the fall 2025 Youth Art Competition. The public is invited to the exhibition’s free opening reception on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 3 to 5 p.m. at Chelsea City Hall. The event is free and open to all.

Apollinaire Play Lab is the youth visual arts program of Apollinaire Theatre Company, taught by Visual Arts Instructor Brooks Reeves, an actor, director, playwright, visual artist, and recipient of multiple Elliot Norton Awards. The program empowers children ages 5–11 to explore color, shape, line, texture, and technique, building the skills and confidence to express themselves and continue creating. Apollinaire Play Lab’s scholarship program ensures participation is accessible to all families regardless of ability to pay.

The exhibition is presented by the City of Chelsea in partnership with Apollinaire Theatre Company and Teatro Chelsea.

The Chelsea City Hall Art Gallery is located on the second floor of City Hall, 500 Broadway. The Gallery is open to the public during City Hall’s normal hours of operation: Mon/Wed/Thurs: 8 a.m.–4 p.m.; Tues: 8 a.m.–7 p.m., and Fri: 8 a.m.–12 p.m. For more information, contact Delia Harrington, Manager of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy for the City of Chelsea, at [email protected].
