And Congratulations Chelsea High Boys Soccer!

We’d also like to offer our congratulations to the Chelsea High boys soccer team for claiming an outright Greater Boston League (GBL) championship thanks to a clutch effort during the past two weeks that saw coach Mick Milutinovic’s Red Devils overtake defending champion Revere.

Chelsea had trailed the Patriots by three points in the GBL standings entering the final two weeks of the GBL season, but the Red Devils first knocked off Revere and then won their next three games — while Revere tied one and lost one — to surge past the Patriots to finish with a 10-3-1 record in the GBL, compared to Revere’s final mark of 8-3-3.

The Chelsea team’s performance over these past two weeks is part of a larger streak in which the Red Devils have won 10 of 12 contests.  Milutinovic’s crew is peaking at the right time as they prepare for the upcoming Division 2 state tournament (Chelsea presently is ranked #28 in the MIAA’s D-2 power ratings) and we know we join with all Chelsea sports fans in wishing them good luck in their post-season matches ahead.
