Helena Yannetti
Her values of generosity and family first guided her through life
Helena (Iacoviello) Yannetti passed away peacefully on October 4 in Chelsea at age 104. Born in East Boston, during a blizzard, she was one of seven, and her family moved to Chelsea in 1927. She married her husband, George during the war, on November 7, 1942. They raised their family in Chelsea and were together for 40 years until she lost George to a sudden death in 1978.
Helena’s values of generosity and family first guided her through her life. Her love of good food meant that there were always delicious, homemade dishes for every occasion. She was a beloved Auntie Lena to all her many nieces and nephews, and the door was always open to visitors and coffee was always on.
She was an active person and loved going out with her friends or family. She enjoyed bowling, playing and winning at Mah Jongg, going to the theater or shopping and she especially loved spending time with her family.
Helena was preceded in death by her husband, George, and all of her siblings, Louie, Frank, Angie, Felix, John and Millie. She was the last of her generation. Helena is survived by her daughters, Terri Yannetti and her partner, Laura Militzer, Lisa Mitchell and her husband, Robert, sons, George Yannetti, Jr. and his wife, Ruth and Paul Yannetti; grandchildren: Kendal Mitchell, Jeffrey Mitchell, Michelle Yannetti and her husband, Evan Freeman and great grandchildren, Sofia and Isabella Freeman.
On Friday October 11, relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend visiting hours in the Carafa Family Funeral Home, 389 Washington Ave., Chelsea from 9 to 11 a.m. Funeral services will follow the visitation in the Funeral Home at 11 a..m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.

Relatives and friends attended a visitation and funeral service for Pedro Nunez Cadiz at the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea, on Wednesday, October 9, and services concluded with interment at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
Pedro, at 45 years of age, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 2, after a short illness. Born in Boston, Pedro grew up in Chelsea where he attended local schools. He was married to Adriana M. Espitia Giancola and together they raised their two children. Pedro worked in the building trades and commercial painting fields, primarily for Walt Disney World in Florida. He was a member of the painters’ union, IUPAT District Council 78. In his lifetime, Pedro enjoyed playing football and watching a good movie.
Pedro is lovingly survived by his beloved wife, Adriana M. Espitia Giancola, his devoted children Leyla Mane Núñez and Pedro Nathaniel Núñez Espitia, his loving parents and his dear siblings Natheniel Nunez, Ana Nunez, and Rigoberto Ruiz. Abraham J. Almodovar
New York Government Contracting Agent responsible for cleaning Ground Zero after 9/11
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours and funeral services for Abraham J. Almodovar, 77, today, Thursday, October 10 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Welsh Funeral Home, 718 Broadway, Chelsea, with services immediately following at 12 P.M. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Mr. Almodovar passed away after a long illness on Friday, October 4th at Casa De Ramana Rehabilitation Center in Framingham, where he was recently receiving hospice care. Born and raised in Guánica, Puerto Rico, Abe was one of seven children of the late Damaso Almodovar and Clara Erma Nazario. He was a longtime former resident of Long Island City, Queens, New York, and had been residing in Framingham for the past seven years. Abe was a former husband of Mayra Torres and was passionately devoted to home and family. Born and raised in Guánica, Puerto Rico, Abe was one of seven children of the late Damaso Almodovar and Clara Erma Nazario. He was a longtime former resident of Long Island City, Queens, New York, and had been residing in Framingham for the past seven years. Abe was a former husband of Mayra Torres and was passionately devoted to home and family. He worked as a Government Contracting Agent for the New York Department of Environmental Protection and the New York Department of Design and Construction, where he was responsible for cleaning ground zero for 9/11. After completing his career of 36 years, he retired in 2017. In his lifetime, Abe enjoyed writing, painting, and politics. He is lovingly survived by his three children, one granddaughter, and his siblings. He is also survived by extended family members and friends.
