It’s a Three-Peat: Cardinals Win Chelsea Men’s Softball League Championship

The Cardinals and the Astros met for the third year in a row in the finals of the Chelsea Men’s Softball League, and once again it was the Cardinals accepting the championship from Commissioner Minerva Cruz.

Manager Lou Cetina’s Cards dropped the opener of the series, but they rebounded to take the next two games and the title.

Ace pitcher Tito Arroyo was the difference maker in Game 2. The Cards won a nail-biter in extra innings in Game 3.

The Cardinals won their first title in 2019. The 2020 season was canceled due to the pandemic. The Cardinals put their name on the championship in 2021 and then again in 2022.

The Cardinals consider themselves “one, big happy family.” The team consists of the following coaches and players: Manager lou Cetina, Manny Cetina, Tony Kosuk, Kevin O’Regan, Craig Cole, Jose Ortiz, Tito Arroyo, Carlos Vega Jr., Steve Pitcher, Hector Rojas, John Montes, Joel Rodriguez, Michael Lush, Donnie Joness, Luis Diaz, Gino Tammaro, Jose Gonzalez, Mike Ciano, and Naz.

“Playing in this league is competitive, but at the end of the day, we’re all family,” said Manager Cetina.

The Cardinals would like to thank their team sponsor, the PPC Function Hall, 58 Broadway (John Miller).

The Cardinals commended League Commissioner Minerva Cruz for doing an excellent job running the league. According to School Committee member Shawn O’Regan, Minerva Cruz organizes a Back To School Supplies Give-Away every year at the championship game.
