María Belén Power, candidate for City Council District 8 in Chelsea, today announced that her campaign is actively collecting signatures to request a manual recount after the November 2nd results showed a difference of only 4 votes.
“Every vote should be counted; every voice matter to me–that is why I am filing paperwork for this recount,” says Power. “We want to ensure that the intent of every single voter is honored.”
Power has started filing the necessary paperwork for a recount to take place with the support of the people of Chelsea, her endorsing organizations and leaders across the Commonwealth. María Belén first decided to run for City Council to be a voice for the people of Chelsea. As a hardworking advocate, she will bring an important perspective to the City Council, pushing for increased public health & quality of life, reliable and affordable public transit, climate resilience and environmental justice.
