Steph Simon places fourth in the high jump at New England meet
Chelsea High track and field star Stephanie Simon turned in a pair of stellar performances at this past weekend’s New England championship meet, which featured the top performers from all of the New England states.
Stephanie placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 18’-4”. The winning jump was turned in by a girl from Connecticut with a jump of 19’-6.”
Steph then just missed earning a medal in the 55 meter dash, finishing in ninth place, falling infinitesimally short of advancing to the finals by less than one-hundredth of a second.
Simon will be headed to New York City next Friday to compete in the Emerging Elite competition in both the long jump and triple jump at the New Balance Indoor Nationals.
