Threatened Police

On Aug. 7, at  6:30 a.m., Officers responded to 693 Broadway for a report of a suspicious male party. Officers observed a juvenile male on the sidewalk out front of 693 Broadway. Officers exited their cruiser and approached the juvenile foot. The juvenile immediately threatened both offices and attempted to strike them. He was arrested on the scene.

A 17-year-old Chelsea youth was charged with disorderly conduct, assault and battery on a police officer and threatening to commit a crime.

Threatened Witness at Courthouse

On Aug. 7, at 10 a.m., officers responded to the Chelsea District Court on a report of witness intimidation. An Assistant District Attorney told the officers that a male victim was threatened and intimidated by two males in Courtroom 4. The victim, a witness, was there to testify in the case against a family member of one of the two men that made threats to him. Both were placed under arrest.

Jesus Diaz, 35, of Dorchester, was charged with witness intimidation.

Jeancarlos Marte, 29, of Dorchester, was charged with witness intimidation. 

Road Rage

On Aug. 9, at 10:56 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of the Market Basket parking lot by the taxi stand for a call of a male party with a knife. Officers were stopped by a victim who stated that while operating his car on Everett Avenue, he stopped to let a pedestrian cross the street in front of him. He reported that a male in the vehicle behind him began to yell at him and follow his vehicle onto the Market Basket property. He stated that the male exited his vehicle and brandished a knife. Officers stopped and arrested the male a short time later.

Jose Barrera-Mendoza, 40, of Norwich, CT, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, giving a false name, three warrants and an immigration detainer.

Stolen Car

On Aug. 9, at 8:35 p.m., while on patrol in the area of Willow Street and Watts Street, officers observed a motor vehicle illegally parked with the engine running. Officers ran a registration check that revealed the car stolen. The officers were able to remove the male from the vehicle after a brief struggle and place him into custody.

Renso Lino-Ramos, 21, of Lynn, was charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle, using a motor vehicle without authority, possession of an open container of alcohol, unlicensed operation and two counts of resisting arrest.
