Breaking and Entering

On June 8, at 1:26 a.m., Officers were dispatched to the rear of 390 Broadway for a report of a burglar alarm activation with the owner on scene. The owner responded when notified by the alarm company. The owner stated he heard someone inside his business when he arrived and gave officers a description. The officers spotted a male matching the description who was later positively identified by the owner of the property and placed under arrest for breaking and entering in the night time.

Jose Baez, 31, of 269 Washington Ave., was charged with breaking and entering in the night for a felony, possession of burglarious tools, and malicious destruction of property over $1,200.

Arrested on Warrants

On June 4, at 2:50 p.m., a CPD officer was dispatched to 423 Eastern Ave., for a report of a property retrieval with Rent-A-Center. The officer was directed to room number #207 where the officer spoke to the subject about the nonpayment to Rent A Center. The male was arrested on scene for having four outstanding warrants on him.

Joseph Tritto, 39, of 423 Eastern Ave., was charged with four warrants.

Bypassed the Register

On June 6, at 10 a.m., officers we were dispatched to Home Depot for the report of a shoplifter who attempted to take more than $1,000 of merchandise. Officers, with the help of store security, tracked down the male subject who was observed on video removing more than $1,200 worth of merchandise past the register in the garden section, he was placed under arrest.

Michael Shaw, 38, of Quincy, was charged with larceny over $1,200 by a single scheme.
