CELL PHONE FRACAS

On March 7, at 6:50 p.m., officers responded to a call for a male chasing another male on the Second Street side of the Market Basket regarding a stolen cell phone. Officers determined it was two males fighting over a  taxi or livery fare at the Market Basket. One of the drivers allegedly assaulted and stole the victim’s phone and ran as the police arrived. Officers placed male under arrest.

Willington Garcia, 39, of 90 Garfield Ave., was charged with assault and intimidation of a witness.

KING CRAB!

On March 8, at 10:24 a.m., officers responded to the Market Basket for a report of a shoplifter causing a disturbance with Market Basket management. Officers were told that the subject stole more than $170 in king crab legs. The shoplifter allegedly nearly struck one of the managers as he tried to flee the area. The male was placed under arrest.

Tracy Morrell, 36, of Malden, was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

SHOT HIMSELF BY ACCIDENT

On Sunday, March 17, at approximately 8 p.m., Chelsea officers responded to the East Boston Health Center at the request of Boston Police to investigate a male reporting a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Chelsea Police detectives interviewed the male and developed information that led to the recovery of the illegally possessed firearm and drugs. The male, after receiving treatment, was placed under arrest for firearm and drug charges. Officers recovered the gun in a barrel on the property of the male.
