Rollins Receives Unanimous Endorsement from the Ward 4 – Chelsea Democratic Committee

The Ward 4 Chelsea Democratic Committee announced today that they have unanimously endorsed Rachael Rollins as their candidate for District Attorney of Suffolk County.

Chair Olivia Anne Walsh stated, “Rachael Rollins is by far the most qualified candidate in this race. She is a proven, results-oriented manager able to lead large groups of people through necessary change with positive outcomes. We know that on day-one she will take action to reform our criminal justice system and to ensure that it is fair and just for everyone.

Attorney Rollins is committed to protecting our diverse community, including immigrants. She knows that communities are not safer when ICE is threatening residents. People need to be able to count on the criminal justice system to work as a trusted partner in preventing and solving crime.  She will diversify the office of the District Attorney and advocate for expanding community based legal services.

Beyond her extensive professional qualifications, Rollins has experienced the issues far too many of us deal with on a daily basis.  She has family members who struggle with substance abuse and knows that treatment and not criminalization of addiction is the answer. She is the proud foster parent of her nieces and wants better for them and all children with parents who are incarcerated or battling addiction.

We trust Rachael Rollins will be a fair, compassionate and a strong leader for our communities.  We invite all of Chelsea to join us in electing Rachael Rollins for Suffolk County District Attorney.”

Rollins responded by saying: “This endorsement is incredibly meaningful to me. I am both a believer in public service and a fighter – I will work with the residents of Ward 4 in Chelsea, and everyone in Suffolk County to make our shared communities safer while working to decriminalize poverty, addiction, and mental illness. This is a challenging time for our community and our nation – and I’m up to the challenge to make significant and meaningful change as the next District Attorney of Suffolk County.”

Election Day is Tuesday, September 4, 2018. To learn more about Rollins or to get involved, please visit: www.rollins4da.com.
