Perlatonda vows to do more for gun control:

To the editor,

I am so deeply saddened by the Las Vegas shooting.

This tragic incident that took and wounded so many lives should never have happened.

How did we let this happen?

As my heart sinks while thinking about this and what I can do to prevent anything like this ever happening again.

Why isn’t there sticker control on gun laws today? Fifty six senators rejected a bill back in 2016 that would have made sticker laws but was rejected.  So where do we go from here?

I for one will contact and try to work with our local enforcement along with the Governor, Senators, and our local Representatives to push hard for better and stricter gun laws.

As we all know here in Chelsea has had its share of shooting and our law enforcement has done its best to keep us safe, but this does not compare to what went on in Las Vegas and what is going on in the world today.

We should not let this stop us from attending events, but on the other hand we as citizens need to stand up and take a stance on gun control.

I know our President plans to meet with the victims of the families and law enforcement, but he should start with an emergency meeting session to discuss and take control.

I know we all have the right to bears arms but this should and does not include assault weapons.

I urge all of you not only living in Chelsea but all of Massachusetts and surrounding states to join the fight to combat gun control.

With that said make your voice heard and call, email, text, write your local law enforcement, Governor, Senator and State Representative and put a Stop to such violence.

Joe Perlatonda
