Anthony ‘Chubby’ Tiro
Chelsea sports great and School Committee chairman
Anthony “Chubby” Tiro of Saugus, formerly of Chelsea, died on January 11.
He was the devoted husband for 58 years to Anna (Damiano); beloved father of Robert Tiro and his wife, Denise of Wakefield, Robin Tiro-Kinnon and her husband, Stephen of Lynnfield and Anthony Tiro and his wife, Lisa DiBerto-Tiro of Saugus; dear brother of Robert Tiro of Wollaston and Dennis Tiro of Lynn; cherished grandfather of Robert Tiro, Rose Tiro, Brooke Tiro, Stephen Kinnon, Nicholas Kinnon, Anthony “TJ” Tiro and his wife, Stephanie, Gianna Tiro and Bria Tiro. He is also lovingly survived by his great granddaughter, Ayla.
At the request of the family, funeral services and interment were private.

Chester Kwiatkowski
Past Exalted Ruler of Chelsea Elks and retired Chelsea Health Inspector
Chester C. Kwiatkowski of Chelsea passed away on January 17 at the Spaulding Nursing and Therapy Center-North End, where he had been receiving supportive care. He was 89 years old.
He was a US Army veteran of World War II. He worked as a truck driver for Kayem for 30 years and then for 20 years as a health inspector for the City of Chelsea. He was a member of the PPC, St. Andrews Club and a member and past Exalted Ruler of the Chelsea Elks.
He was the devoted father of Carol Danner and her husband, Robert of Wakefield, Kenneth Kwiatkowski, Sr. and his wife, Joanne of Chelsea and the late Diane Kwiatkowski and former husband of Laura (Uminski) Kwiatkowski of Chelsea; brother of the late Helen Kwiatkowski, John Kwitkor and Charles Kwiatkowski and cherished grandfather of Sean Conlon and his wife, Leanne of Winthrop, Brian Conlon, Sr. of Newton, Ashley, Melissa, Kenneth, Jr. and Mary Margaret Kwiatkowski and Heidi Chichester and her husband, Bryan of Aliquippa, PA. He is also lovingly survived by his great grandchildren: Brian, Kylie, Kaytlin, Alexis and Anthony as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements were by the Smith Funeral Home, Chelsea. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Expressions of sympathy in Chet’s name may be made to PEDI HEM-ONC, 55 Fruit St., Yawkey 8B, Boston, MA 02114.
