New Lt. Miguel Sanchez Sr. – the first Latino police officer to make lieutenant in the history of Chelsea – has his badge pinned on by his son, Miguel Sanchez Jr., during a swearing in and promotion ceremony held at the City Council meeting on Monday night. Sanchez said he is still in shock over having achieved the rank. Sanchez is a Chelsea resident, a graduate of Chelsea High School, an Army veteran and a 20-year veteran of the CPD.
