James Thompson

Of Chelsea, formerly of East Boston

James F. Thompson of Chelsea, formerly of East Boston, died on June 24.

He was the cherished son of Mary (Gleeson) Thompson of Texas and the late James Thompson; dear brother of Donna Quigley of East Boston, Linda Mastrangelo of Chelsea and Lu-Ann Wilson of Texas.

Robert Robicheau

Of Peabody, formerly of Chelsea

Robert T. Robicheau of Peabody, formerly of Chelsea, Wilmington and Malden, died on June 30.

He was the devoted husband of Anely (Pelaez) Robicheau; father of Robert D. Robicheau and his wife, Candice and Michelle Robicheau, all of Danvers, Michael Robicheau and his wife, Miranda of Taunton and step-father of Yajahira and Hillary Tejada, both of Peabody; dear brother of Elizabeth Sampson of Malden, Barbara Adams of Texas and the late William F. Robicheau; cherished grandfather of Tyler, Ian and Aspen. He is also lovingly survived by nieces and nephews.

Antoinette ‘Toni’ Riccio

Lifelong Chelsea Resident

Antoinette “Toni” (Saggese) Riccio, a lifelong resident of Chelsea, died on June 29 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. She was 67 years old.

Mrs. RIccio, who worked for John Hancock Insurance Co. in her early years, was the devoted wife of Carmen Riccio; beloved mother of John Riccio of Saugus and Tina Bagnera of Chelsea; dear sister of Robert Saggese of Billerica and the late Rich Saggese; cherished grandmother of Tanya Bagnera and is also lovingly survived by nieces and nephews.

Frank Megna, Jr.

Avid Mororcycle and Auto Enthusiast, Elks and Amvets Member

Frank F. Megna, Mr. of Winthrop died suddenly on June 27. He was 72 years old.

Born in Boston, he attended Boston Schools and graduated from East Boston High School, Class of 1958. He was an avid motorcycle and auto enthusiast who worked most of his life as an autobody man in many of the autobody shops in East Boston, Chelsea and Winthrop. He was a member of the Winthrop Lodge of Elks 1078 and the Winthrop Amvets Post 48.

He was the dear son of the late Frank Sr. and Grace Megna and the husband of Rosemarie (Tate); devoted father of Gracemarie Megna of Marlborough, Frederick and his wife, Jackie of Arizona and Michael and his wife, Kathy of Marlborough and is also survived by two brothers, Richard and Robert Megna of East Boston; the brother of the late Anthony Megna and the loving fiancé of Sharon Belger of Winthrop. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Joseph R. Frazier Funeral Home, 174 Winthrop St., Winthrop, today, Tuesday, July 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. with an Elks service tol be conducted at 7:30 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be donated to the N.E. Center for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court Street, Boston, MA 02108.

Arthur “Mickey” O’Donnell

Former Chelsea High Sports Star and Technology Expert
Arthur “Mickey” O’Donnell died in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida on June 23. He was 66 years old.

“Mickey” was born in Revere on June 23, 1946 and was a sports star for Chelsea High School, where he met his wife of 45 years, Nancy Harris O’Donnell. The two were together from the moment they met until his death.

His life was the very definition of success. After serving briefly in the US Army, he began a career in computer services that began humbly but flourished as he rose through the ranks of Digital Equipment Corporation, and eventually on to other northeast technology companies including: GTech, Solectron, Motorola, and finally Monster Worldwide (Monster.com), serving as Executive Vice President of Services.

He spent his all too brief retirement at his beachfront home on Singer Island, Florida in the frequent company of his four sons: Craig, Chad, Corey and Casey. He was the patriarch of a family tree that grew to include six grandchildren and he is survived by his loving wife Nancy, his sons and grandchildren, and the lasting legacy of the many whose lives and careers he touched.

A small remembrance gathering is being planned for later this summer in Massachusetts

Paul R. Theodore

Of Florida, formerly of Chelsea

Paul R. Theodore of Greenacres, Florida, formerly of Chelsea and Danvers, died on June 24. He was in his 82nd year.

A proud U.S. Air Force veteran, he was the beloved husband of Therese C. Theodore; loving father of Joan Theodore and her partner, Russ,  Nancy Bourgeois, Mary Roberts, Paul R. Theodore and his partner, Matt; cherished grandfather of Kristen, Janelle, Diana, Corinne, and Stephen; great-grandfather of Skye and dear brother of Mary Skarmeas and her husband, Peter and Kathleen Courtney.

Services were entrusted to the Tillman Funeral Home, West Palm Beach with inurnment at South Florida National Cemetery, Lake Worth, FL.

Marcus ‘Fritzy’ Donnay

Worked for Tewksbury Metals

Marcus “Fritzy” Donnay of Tewksbury and Chelsea died on June 26. He was 82 years old.

A US Navy veteran of the Korean War and an  employee of Tewksbury Metals, he was the son of the late Nicholas and Frances (Schreifels) Donnay; beloved father of Robert and Ruth (Glennon) Donnay of Virginia Beach, VA, and Mark and Maureen (Nanni) Donnay of Tewksbury (with whom he resided); beloved grandfather of Jennifer Jones and her husband, Kevin, Keith Donnay, Robert Donnay Jr., Angela Browning and her husband, Roger, all of Virginia, Mark Donnay Jr., and Steven Mack, both of Tewksbury, Shawna Donnay of Maine and Leeann Grimes and her husband, Timothy of Beverly; great grandfather of 12; brother of Evelyn Decker, Ethel Hilsgen, Maryann Stonmes, Barbara Ruthann Kalkbrener, Bettyjean Helm, and Theresa Hettwer, all of Minnesota; and the late Gerald Donnay.
